The Eco Market: A first of it's kind Green Marketplace and Conference
Updated: Jun 27
The Eco Market is dedicated to supporting, uplifting, and showcasing Canadian green innovation, entrepreneurship, and community action. We have community-building events every month, ranging from green networking events, large speaker showcases to pitch competitions, host an environmental science podcast as well as a highly curated annual conference every April.
I'm proud to be a part of this wonderful organization, lending my expertise with marketing and branding, community-led initiatives and EMCEE duties.
The Eco Market 2019 was the Canadian green event of the year! It took place at the Waterloo Region Museum and featured a highly curated marketplace, speakers, interactive activities, and art. This event was FREE to attend.
Our 2019 conference saw our very first Eco-Art installations and performances; "From Ego to Eco", a partnership The Creative Capital of Canada, the installation featured a large message painted on wooden palates and placed at the entrance to the conference. This display read "Ego to Eco" and it was created to help shift our perspective from me to us.
Check out this short video all about our latest event.
Thanks to all our sponsors, volunteers, and supporters!
We also presented C.D Good and Jennifer Davis in "Conversations with Grief and Hope" - a dramatic reading of their illustrated story, ( When Ick Met Spark), the duo presents a reflective dialogue between two strange characters, Ick and Spark. The dramatic reading gives voice to the fear and sadness that comes from knowing how much destruction is taking place in our environment. The story reflects a way to feel the truth, and at the same time, be empowered to choose ways towards a more balanced and transformed future. We hope to have their presentation available soon.
